UK consumer rights for faulty products purchased over the internet?
I purchased a digital camera last week from a marketplace seller through Amazon.co.uk. Camera arrived fine but I noticed that it made a rattling noise when moved which I thought odd. Have been to currys and jessops and looked at identical camera and none make this rattling sound.
I have contacted the seller and am told that I can return the camera and they will get it repaired and that it will take 28 days!
Surely this can’t be right as the camera is less than a week old and was fault when it arrived. I can’t afford to wait 28 days as I am leaving the country for a year in 2 weeks time (which is what I need the camera for).
Does any expert know what my consumer rights are regarding this? Should they not replace it if faulty? Also, does the fact that I paid by credit card make any difference?
