So I’m in the process of rebuilding my credit after a set of medical setbacks. One of the items on which I’m working is a default judgement that was filed in 2015. My goal was to pay the amount and move forward with life. However, I’ve spent the better part of a day with the hospital and they have absolutely no record of this debt in their system.
If I dispute the item with the credit bureau, I would assume, they’re only going to verify that–in fact–a default judgement was awarded which serves me no purpose. Am I better served, to file a motion to vacate the judgement based on the fact that the hospital is incapable of locating any “owed” amount?
