Is it against the law for creditors to contact me by phone if I send them a registered letter?
I am currently registered in a debt settlement program in Canada. I was told that if I send the collection agency that is working on behalf of my creditor a registered letter requesting to contact me by writing only that they have to follow that request by law. However, I have looked extensively on the Ministry of Consumer and Commercial website and cannot find that law anywhere. Does anyone know if this law actually exists?
