Van Cleef & Arpels is a large jewelry house. However, in 1976, she decided to tackle the perfume sector. Moreover, it was a bet that she won brilliantly thanks to her first feminine essence, simply named First. Over time, this aldehyde perfume turned into a real myth. Also, it is quite logical that the Van Cleef & Arpels house has decided to pay tribute to him on the occasion of his fortieth birthday. In this year 2016, the brand has chosen to revisit this famous essence and will soon give birth to the new So First fragrance .

Van Cleef & Arpels, the first jeweler-perfumer

The fact of evoking the First perfume instantly plunges us into the heart of 1976. As autumn began to take place, Van Cleef & Arpels organized a big evening in the center of one of the largest Parisian hotels. Indeed, it is right in the middle of the Ritz that the guests have the pleasure of learning that the jeweler is launching into perfumery. If this choice may seem trivial today, at the time, it was a great first. No luxury jewelry maker had yet put his stamp on a perfumed bottle. In this sense, Van Cleef & Arpels showed great originality and it paid off remarkably since its First perfume gradually turned into a real myth. It had been developed by the talented perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena. The idea was to make this perfume a real gem. Jacques Arpels said then: “With the eternal finery, we have associated the most fleeting finery…”. This essence was then fully part of the continuity of the creations of the house. It was particularly refined and wonderfully magnified the woman who was fortunate enough to wear it.

So First, a very elegant scented revisit

So First is a scented variation that emanates from the imagination of Nathalie Lorson. The perfumer then wanted to create a fresh, elegant and very sensual fragrance. She thus started her composition with a fresh and marked scent of bergamot. However, it remains soft and combines with the delicacy of the magnolia. This flower also brings vanilla and lemony accents which do not lack vitality. The heart of So First, meanwhile, is particularly refined. Its floral scent is very powerful. In addition, it emanates from the frangipani flower and thus gives off very refined amended scents. If we close our eyes, So First could almost evoke the feeling of being on an island paradise on the other side of the world. In addition, jasmine embellishes the whole with its powdery tones. Finally, So First ends its race with a spicy sweetness of vanilla. This ingredient makes everything particularly warm and continues its quest for the exotic. In addition, So First incorporates in its composition one of the oldest raw materials used in perfumery, namely sandalwood. This then completes the whole with its warm and oriental scent. So First is a resolutely modern fragrance,
