For US tax filing can I deduct interest paid for house that I bought in India?

  Hi!
  I bought a house in India and I have been paying the monthly mortgage payment in USD. I transfer USD to an NRE bank account and the monthly mortgage payment is taken from that account.
  Can I deduct the interest paid for that house for 2007 US tax return? I have all the documentation of the mortgage payment.
