Can anyone get a home warranty? Or do you have to be buying or selling a home??

  I know they are usually designed for buying and selling a home that is who uses them most. I have lived in my home for 4 years and had to let our warranty lapse while I was on unpaid leave. But our home is old and I think it would be in our best interest…since homeowners insurance doesn’t cover AC/Heating and those costly things.
