Can landlord run credit check without signed privacy disclosure?
recently applied for new house for rent. Application is basic in nature from the 1990’s. In social security number area I entered available upon formal request. There is no language whatsoever stating there may be a credit/background, or employment verification. He also requested copy of my paystubs, so i sent this along with w2.
He is a real estate agent/loan officer for a mortgage company. he took my social off of my stub and ran a hard pull on CREDCO three bureau score I believe.
I am sooooooo mad right now, and pretty sure I am right, that this is against the rules, so to speak.
