Can I get an umbrella policy for my home, rental houses, cars, etc if my lenders require insurance escrow?
I am in the process of purchasing my 3rd home, and will add my retain my current residence as a rental property. I also rent out my first home. I am interested in the benefits of an umbrella policy in this situation. Will my lenders even allow this if they are currently making me contribute to an insurance escrow account? What are the general pros and cons of getting an umbrella policy in this situation? Is it less expensive, do you get better coverage, etc? If I include my vehicles under the umbrella policy and have a car claim will my homes then get insurance blacklisted like they do if you make a homeowners insurance claim? Thanks!
