How to get information on foreclosed homes / ing in my area?

I therefore see their websites and everything that sounds too good to be true (ie, a small but adequate house for sale in Silicon Valley for about $ 20,000), but I have no idea how to begin to buy a , or even information without my credit card number to someone. Help!

There are a few ways, most involve spending money for the listings.

But I doubt you are going to find a foreclosed home for $ 20,000, especially in Silicon Valley.

Many people are losing their homes because they over paid for them and financed (or re-financed) them on interest only loans. The interest rates went up, their credit card payments doubled last year (thank you Congress, way to go!) and they now can’t make their overinflated payments on homes they bought but really can’t afford.

The banks aren’t going to discount their foreclosures that much at first. You can pick them up at auction sometimes for a steal.

And you can try HUD, they have free listings, but here in Michigan, it seems like you have to know someone to actually buy a HUD foreclosed home.

Go to and you there is a tab near the top for foreclosed home listings, you can try there.

    Good luck!
